Eve Arnold at Sensus

Went to view this exhibition being held at Sensus in Victoria, London, initially interested to viewing the images that this photographer had taken of Marilyn Monroe. Having a limited idea of what the exhibition held I was pleasantly suprised at the variety and the amazing places and situations the photographer had been in and the photographs were all really beautiful but real. "I don't see anybody as either ordinary or extraordinary," she said in a 1990 BBC interview, "I see them simply as people in front of my lens.” A list of lifetime achievements to her name Eve Arnold was most memorable for her images of Marilyn Monroe on the set of Misfits. For a full life story click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_Arnold

Arnold died in London on January 4, 2012, aged 99.

Arthurs Seat Edinburgh - Conversation on the Hill

Arthur's Seat Edinburgh

I took this photo at the beginning of the year, the 1st January to be precise, the weather was particularly chilly with quite a strong wind. But there was a lovely bit of wintry sun that shone that day, which did make the light good to take some photo's. The walk up Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh was breath taking, with views of the whole city spanning all the way to the sea. I love this photo which is actually the favourite one out of all the photo's taken that day. The way the sun catches the mustard scarf and the two friends in conversation in silhouette a bit further on in the picture.
