Looking for Wall Art has become a bit of a interest for me recently, whilst out and about in London I keep an eye open for Art to snap. Today I spotted some stencil wall art which I thought was quite nice!

STREET ART Donkey Hat

I spotted a ASVP poster high up on a wall, on the way down to Notting Hill. Did a bit of searching to find out a bit more about the Artist or Artists as these posters are popping up all over the place from Brooklyn to Notting Hill Gate and there is not much to find except pictures of these amazing posters which I guess say more than than words. Quirky and clever, I hope I spot some more around London. If anyone knows where leave it in the comment section. Ta

The Lion and the Unicorn

Paying homage to the original 1951 Lion and Unicorn Exhibition, this 2011 Installation by Gitta Gschwendtner works with the original themes which are reinterpreted. Lion = Bravery and Courage and Unicorn = Imagination and Independance. Gitta worked with 50 refugees whose spoken and written poems are on pieces of paper in the Installation. Worth the visit the Installation is both beautiful and fragile with paper flapping in the wind and birds flying in the sky. The exhibition is part of the Southbank Hayward Gallery and Visual Arts Programme.

Saatchi Gallery Visit

 

I just love the Saachi Gallery situated close to Sloane Square this gallery boasts a number of new and upcoming artists in varying size room Galleries. From the bizarre to the surreal, the Saachi Gallery also hosts a Online Gallery which aspiring artists can join and display their artwork on. A great platform to promote talent. Happy Year of the Rabbit

3rd February sees the arrival of 'Xin Mao' - the Year of the Rabbit. According to Chinese tradition, the Rabbit brings a year in which you can catch your breath and calm your nerves. Rusty Favourite Photo Collection

 I found a few photographs in my pictures folder from all my years of snapping away, that all had something in common so I've put them together like a collection of vases or ornaments and I think they do quite nicely. A collection of photographs taken from around the world at different times of the day with different cameras but they all have a bit of the same colours in them, so oddly matched, but perfectly suited.

New year, New Tunes



Boy & Bear

 Found some new music, a little something new for the new year. Boy and Bear have some fantastic songs including this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYCDNRpyzrM. A lovely dream of ties and bicyle racing all before the new days begins in the real world! And with some really great illustrations as part of the album art, I'm so marking this band as one of my favourites for 2011.
